Studio Nick Spain is a design firm celebrated for crafting interiors and gardens that are at once thoughtful and daring. We believe that to be human is to be in a story, and we help our clients tell theirs.
Through play, imagination, and inventiveness, the studio blends colors, forms, textures, and time periods to create distinctive environments that are rooted in the past, grounded by the present, and have an eye toward the future. We believe that design should be a highly personalized experience and work on a select number of projects at any given time to ensure each space is tailored to the unique needs and perspectives of our clients.

Nick Spain is a designer and writer working across interiors and gardens.
Drawing on his formal training in theater, Nick approaches each new project as a role to be played. He strives to strip away preconceived notions from the design process entirely in order to create environments that are emotive, honest and a little unexpected.
His writing has appeared in The Fader, Vice, Domino and more, and in 2024 he was named a runner-up in the inaugural World of Interiors x Montblanc Writing Prize for his piece, Domestic Bliss. He writes monthly essays on design, culture, and whatever else he feels like, along with 4 accompanying recommendations, through his newsletter Postscript.
